In 7 (seven) districts in Asmat District all have been having health centers, including the Akat District which in the previous year did not have health centers. There are as many as 24 health centers, with 25 polindes, and 21 health centers around the (pusling water). 201 health workers were recorded. From those number 15 people is general practitioners, 81 midwives and 86 nurses.

The number of patients reported in 2006 reached 73,570 sufferers. Malaria is a type of disease suffered by many residents in the district of Asmat. The number of malaria sufferers reach 24,207 people (30.80%). 19,312 sufferers (27.60%) admitted experiencing respiratory problems, 12,127 people (12.95%) claimed to have suffered from diarrhea. Skin diseases is also one of the many types of diseases suffered by the community. The number of people with skin diseases by 8526 people (13.35%), it is suspected that many more citizens who are suffering since only a very few who still want to check into places where health services have been provided by the government.
